What is Mental Skills Training?
The particular mental skills necessary for overall mental toughness can be developed and strengthened utilizing mental conditioning strategies.  Below are the mental skills that are necessary for performing well in sport as well as in career/life performance situations.

  • Maintain a high level of motivation
  • Optimal focus and concentration
  • Manage anxiety, fears, and other emotions effectively
  • Effective goal setting
  • Positively handling setbacks and mistakes

  • Develop awareness of burnout and over-training symptoms


Definition of Mental Toughness:


     Having the natural or developed psychological edge that enables you:

  • Cope better than your opponents with the many demands, (ie., competition, training, lifestyle), that are placed on you as a performer.    
  • Specifically, to be more consistent and better than your opponents in remaining determined, focused, confident, resilient, and in control under pressure.

We believe that these skills are learned and can be improved through instruction and practice.  We begin with an individual assessment of your current proficiency of each skill.  We uncover together your strengths  and weaknesses of  each of these skills. We can then develop an individualized program to meet your needs.
